This is the email I have received from Victoria Dock.....

Tom,

As you know the Frostbite Flotilla will be made most welcome the only reason you wouldn't be is not so good weather.

As a guide for you, if it's forecasting Force 6 or above, SW-NW then you would need to contact Brian as the duty Dockmaster and gain permission from him on the day, he is on 01286672346.

If bad weather is forecast then even though the Menai Strait would be navigable it would out of the question that we could accommodate so many vessels on top of the winter berth vessels that are already berthed on the visitor pontoon.

Thanks for your understanding on the above.

Mark

Looking at the weather for the weekend we may have to change venues. We need to contact V Dock on Friday to see if we can gain access under the forecast weather conditions. It will be a suck it and see scenario if the weather is as forecast (37knts) I'm sure that PD will allow us to gather there, after all we're all sensible people aren't we??

Weather is not looking good and Victoria Dock can be a bit exposed in certain winds.

As it is, I am looking to drive there as I have still not shaken off the lurgy I caught twelve days ago, which has me coughing for most of the night. It has been suggested, by some who have regard to my welfare, that spending a night on a damp boat is not a good idea.

As an alternative we can meet at PD and dine in the marina bar.

Just an idea, but one we can change to at the last moment.

The river Seoint at Caernarfon is very sheltered (I will be spending Sat night aboard there) and there is loads of room, but you do need to be able to dry out. I suspect that may be a problem for some of the more delicate craft.

Bugger..........

Just spoken to Victoria Dock re the forecast..................

They have told me that they will not be able to berth us due to the weather conditions that are forecast for Saturday! They are very apologetic re this but feel that the weather will be far to windy to allow us to tie on the visitors pontoon as they already have many boats moored for the winter period.

I haver just also spoken to the Major and he-me-we feel that under the circumstances it may be more prudent to call the Frostbite Meeting at Port Dinorwic. The Doc restaurant would be glad of the extra custom I'm sure and I will see what (if anything) they can do to help us out.

Suggestions are welcome but I feel this would be the only solution to the weather problems.

It's a get together but not as we wanted it, I'm sure though that Little Ship will be able to provide a few pink Gins for the girls.

What a bummer!
OK , it looks like PD then.
Just spoken to hlb (he has no titernet at the mo) He also reckons PD is the best bet.

He is contacting SultansKapitain.
I will contact Philiz (unless you do Tom) or maybe fer a lark we don't tell em;)
I can contact Phill two bottles.
Beluga berths next door to Philz.
So maybe we better tell them!

Kilter and others who are coming by road will probably see this Post anyway.

So its PD then I reckon:(
Not that there is owt wrong with PD
In fact for some, it 'new' anyway.
If anyone is too sozzled to drive.
BRIZA can berth 4 easily.
Boat don't go but the heating etc is superb:)

Searush, always thinking about You:rolleyes:

Bleedin weather forecasts.
Bet it's as flat as a witches T*t on the day:rolleyes:
Anyway hlb asked me to vote for Him by Proxy for PD.
Tight git, just wants to save on fuel as well I reckon.
Tee Hee, He has no titernet and can't defend Himself:D

Where abouts are you planing to be in PD outer or lock in to the inner.
Just as them thats coming by road know where to find you or do we just follow the trail of empty beer cans and the racket you are planning to create.:D
Cheers David.

Shower o'wimps! & I've just told Royal Welsh to lay in fresh stocks of booze! Doh!

No matter, when we've drunk PD dry we can ship the extra Grog across!
Think the Frosbite mobos would have turned up through the Perfect Storm, tiss Mark et al who are worried.

Yer gonna sail over in Searush?
Der wanna lift?
Der wanna bunk on BRIZA?

:D

I think it is only about 4-5mls up the 487.

Now Quote:- Fine wine and Malts, Sunshine! They are something I really appreciate
especially the Scottish wine 21years old+ the better.:D

Good Sir!
I will bring a bottle of said beverage we can sip and discuss.
No need to pour hlb a dram.
'Strawberries to Pigs' comes to mind;)

Now the RW lunch sounds ideal.

Oh! , I remember, your attendance is Sun AM.

So tiss wine at that time I Presume!

Unless we 'withdraw' post meal to discuss and diagnose a Scotch or two.
Shuttle me timbers.
I am sure transport can be arranged for said Gig.
Breakfast can be had in PD too I would think.
Will your ETA coincide with that?

Therefore I see the Programne as follows.

Togetherness in PD during Saturday
Scoops and nosh in PD
Sun AM The Breaking of The Fast in PD
Hair of etc, in Caernarfon at 13.30?, plus sustinace etc etc etc !:)

Monday -- to be forgotten or sick notes proffered etc!

Well this is a first, responding whilst on the boat, tis a bit slow but better than nowt
Message received and understood re-meeting at PD rather than Victoria Dock. We don't have John's (Beluga) phone number but will keep an eye out for him.

look forward to seeing all at PD we're sure you'll be made most welcome.

Not a good idea to go to Royal Welsh for Sunday lunch as it is closed & I did say earlier they only do toasties & pizza anyway unless a pre arranged event. It could have been arranged, but wasn't!

Wales is not generally at its liveliest on the sabbath.

I'm unlikely to get enough time to get as far as PD - family have lots of "important shopping" to do.

Got a green light, so will see various of you at PD Sat p.m. :)

If you've all buggered off to the pub, which one will it be? (Is there a choice?)

SWMBO is curious to find out if I've been 'groomed'

As you drive down the hill off the main road, the first building on the left is the bar. If you look to your right you will see the bridge to the other side of the dock. To the left of the bridge on the far side is where Little Ship is parked. If we are not in the bar, we will be drinking LS dry.

Pub Information....

The Doc (thats the pub in PD) caters for lunches, evening meals and breakfast at weekends. They also do a carvery at Sunday Lunch!

Oh yeh! before I forget......... they sell liquid refreshments as well!

Tom

PS Drink LS dry indeed..........Mucky Farter is to the right of the bridge and should be getting so forum abuse this time.
