mesh type material for awning side screens

SWIMBO has worked hard sewing up our awnings. These are essentially in 3 sections, sort of boom tents on main and mizzen booms and a triangular section for the fore deck.
The 2 boom 'tents' are supported crossways on carbon poles which tie off to the standing rigging.
These are great for shade when the sun is overhead but we need something to hang down the sides to cut down the sun sneaking in from that direction!!
In Greece we have seen fishing boats using a sort of netting which filters the worst of the sun out but allows light and breeze in.
Does anyone know of a source of this kind of material?

You're probably referring to Phifertex. It comes in a variety of mesh sizes, giving greater or less opacity. Good stuff.

Very many hardware shops in Greece sell it. Also available in many chandleries and hardware shops throughout the Med.
