Hi I am changing my shaft seal first time on my 695 with Volvo 150 on a 35 mm shaft?
but am a bit confused as the Volvo seal a companyhas recommended me is grease lubricated, mine has a water feed pipe going into the stern tube do I still need this pipe,
Thanks

Yes. The water feed is to ensure that the stern tube is always full of water. Not generally needed on displacement speed lower powered craft but essential on higher speed/power like yours. Otherwise the water can only come up through the rear stern tube bearing and when you are running at speed this is insufficient and can result in air in the tube. Although the lip seals at the forward end need periodic greasing (once a year) the rear half of the rubber moulding is a fluted water lubricated bearing, hence the need for continuous flow of water.

The Volvo seal is original equipment om your boat so you are replacing like with like.
