Merry Fisher 855

Boat only arrived late last week and been blowing a hoolie since. Will let you know performance in a future post. Delivery skipper said 36 knots briefly on the Channel crossing....but that was running in.

Excellent choice. I sell Merry Fishers in South Florida and also (as the company Captain), deliver them to our buyers. These are excellent boats and very versatile. Even my cousin owns one and he and his wife enjoy it very much just about every weekend.

Well two and a bit years later and Keiko is now sold to her new owner and on her way to Finland. I guess that the exchange rate with the Euro helped the sale.

It was a love, hate relationship with the boat. I loved the lack of maintenance with a new boat and outboards, but I hated the drop down in size from the previous 34ft boat down to a 28ft boat. We felt cramped and being a lanky git, I was constantly banging my head on things.

What next? maybe a Prestige P32, but they have those green engines.........

Im looking at the Merry Fisher 855 as the strongest contender for a new boat upgrade - is anyone soon to list or have any advice for getting an end of season bargain?

I remember that six months after buying mine, Beneteau slashed their prices at the Southampton boat show and to be competitive, all the Jeanneau dealers followed suite and there were some bargains to be had!!

The London boat show is not that far away..........
