Hi all,
Has any other MF805 owners had problems with their stern gland?! I had another Volvo Seal fitted and the engineer assures me that it needs to have a strip of rubber bonded to the inside of the seal to make it small enough at the stern tube end to fit tightly. It is a genuine Volvo seal and the correct one for the boat. The stern tube looks in good nick yet it seems too small. Bonded version appears to leak so we are back to the drawing board!

Thanks

Presumably this is a Carry On since the 'near sinking' episode.

Seems if things don't fit you are indeed back to square one.
the Fitter of the latest seal, is He the same Guy?

Have the facts of the first ingress been sorted?

Something is radically wrong somewhere.
The Volvo seal(you say is correct) should fit ok.

Can't see the stern tube being wrong on a relatively new massed produced vessel.
Something does not ring right here!

Yes, managed to undo the damage of the "near sinking" thanks. I gave the guy a chance to sort things but now I don't trust him at all. Got a second opinion on the seal today but still unclear. Maybe it's time to cut him loose and find someone else.
