Merry Fisher 805 Fridge not cooling

Does the thermostat click as you turn it up or down ?

Can you hear the compressor running after the stat clicks in ?

If the compressor isn't running then I would start with the stat, but check there isn't a separate fuse to the compressor. If the compressor runs but no cooling effect then look for signs of a leak (oily marks appear around the leak site).

Also check the temperatures of the larger inlet and smaller outlet, if they're the same size the outlet is the pipe going directly to the condenser grid, and should be at least hand hot. The inlet pipe should feel cold, not just cool or lukewarm.

If you can't find the problem can you also list the make and model of the fridge.

bought boat last summer.
wasn't connected to shore power. was only using my own boat batteries. longest power was on aat any one time about 2 hours.
when turn up or down fridge no click.. internal light works.
its a waeco coolmatic.. must check the model next time at boat. possible RPD040 or 50 model.

how long should it take to cool? or how long turned on before I hear compressor?

thanks

As soon as the stat clicks the compressor should start. As you can't hear it click I would start with the stat. If you have electrical capability simply link it out (connect the two wires to it together - if it works then you have identified the problem. If it does not work then it is something else.

It’s your boat batts .
There’s not enough Volts
To protect agianst robbing the boat batts and killing them ,the Waeco Fridges have a voltage protector on the compressor if the V drops below a certain level the compressor does not start .
That why your light only works .
