Merry Fisher 10 - anybody got one?

The 925 and 805 are very popular, but I must say I wasn't aware that there was a 10mtr version. I'm surprised it weighs only 4.5 tons, slightly less than the 925!

makes good sense with a single 370 hp engine and lots more room than the 925 for the same displacement; I like it.

The MF10 was in production for a very short period, somewhere around the 2 year mark. It cam from the time when Merry Fisher and Antares went head to head before the Beneteau/Jeanneau group decided to split the offering.

Merry Fisher were to concentrate on the smaller outboard powered models where are it was the Antares range that was going to push bigger - hence you got the new A30, A11/36 and A12/42

The MF10 is almost exactly the same layout as the later Antares 30, the Beneteau taking the market positon of the biggest Merry Fisher which was condsidered too big for the brand.

They are a rare beast and their reletive scarcity means that they make a good second hand buy as they tend to stick as not many people are aware of them and are therefore subsequently looking for them. Still a good boat though if the Antares is anything to go by.

Consider this. as Merry Fishers are French why not look on a French website to see what is available. I would imagine that there are far more Merry Fisher dealers over there than in the UK. I lived in Brittany for 6 years I probably went to every boatyard and its amazing how many there are. Certainly with the Pound going up against the Euro you might find that they are cheaper. The French Boat magazine to research is "Announces" If I was looking for that type of boat I would consider going over and having a look.
Personally I prefer Ocequeteau Boats which are very similar but it seems that they don't import them to the UK any more, but owned by the same people who own Merry Fisher.

I dont think Ocequeteau are owned by the Beneteau/Jeanneu group - I beleive they are a seperate company completely

From their website

Sixty years of life and Ocqueteau still displays the same enduring spirit of independence. Several times in the past, however, Ocqueteau had to join forces with bigger companies, Luchaire first and then Jeanneau later. The constraints of mass production did not suit Ocqueteau, which regained its independence in 1995 and has remained independent ever since.
