News just in ....... The liver police are searching for a merman seen in twickenham today , many reports have been made of the merman trying to mount a buckingham 25 while the owner sat back unknowingly and drank beer. The authorities are desperate for any information as the merman was last seen bleeding heavily and they are worried this may be the last of its kind.
Any information or updates on the whereabouts of this wonderful creature should be posted here
p.s i hope hes ok :O)

Very bleeding funny. Forbsie used me as a fender 'cos he couldn't be bothered to get any more out. I got stitched up, 9 of them. Not going near that boat again, don't have to its running and now moves under its own steam.

Nah i'm finr, just can't use my right arm yet, so no lifting pints for awhile. typing with one finger is fun....not.
Got the engine conected to the drive and repaired the drive. It actually moves now, in both directions, forwards and backwards. It wasn't pumping cooling water though.Traced that to a leaking water strainer cover. Forbsie went and got a new one while I was waiting to see the surgeon chapess. Went back and fitted it and alls fine now.
I'm waiting for the maiden voyage to the Anglers. When my arm gets better!!!!

I owe a huge debt of thanks to Barry for all the help he has provided throuighout the term of this project. I was horrified when I saw the stump of his right arm but was greatly relieved when the surgeon sewed it back on with just 9 stitches.

I reckon that this is the first time that the boat has moved under its own steam for at least 5 years and is a culmination of 18 months of my sweat, Barry's blood and my bank manager's tears. All I need to do now is put in a copper run for the fuel and change the water tank into a fuel tank. Oh, and make a bigger hole in my engine box so it doesn't interfere with the steering which caused the problem this afternoon.

It's funny, with all the recent winges about people on the forum and in particular about the 'Old Guard' being too domineering, here is one of the 'Old Guard' taking a day off work to help a fellow forumite (and not for the first time and I'm not the only one) with not one word of complaint (well maybe one /forums/images/icons/wink.gif). To be frank, I'm pretty humbled by this and I know that it goes on all the time with many forum members prepared to give up their time and right arms to help others.
