Anyone know why they have messed about with the pontoons on Mermaid quay.

It appears they have taken away some pontoons and given them over to the ferry's.

I thought there was a need for more pontoons, not less.

Yep, I am sure you are right.

Also less reason for us (And many others) to cross the channel to Wales for Lunch.

So less money in the welsh economy.

The council strikes again...... I really hope not :-(

We had a very frustrating time of it last Sunday, the harbourmaster (or someone in a blue shirt anyway) was just turning boats away, very badly organised - he wasn't even letting boats raft up. At the BCYA rally they got loads of boats in there, we were rafted 3 deep which was fine. We just ended up stooging around the bay being moved on from one place to another and then went home for the first inbound lock.

went down there tonight(Friday) and was talking to one of the comercial guys and he thinks it is permanant.

Great welcome to Cardiff we don't like visiting boats..... Good reason to up sticks and move. Am I sounding bitter... Think the harbour master is losing the plot. Cardiff should be welcoming boats...

You'll always get a warm welcome at CYC. We built a visitors dock in the last year. We had around 15 visiting boats with us on the weekend. Mobo's just as welcome as yachts.

We had a great time at CYC - very welcoming. Mermaid Quay didn't seem like the place to be during the festival anyway.

I cannot understand why they do not service the pontoons. I have moored there a few times, and some of the cleats are very loose! Not to mention the bird mess all over the place....it is like a mine-field!

Telephone:

(029) 2087 7900

Online Complaints (does require online registration for some reason!)

For some reason there is no e-mail address:confused::confused::eek:

Must be trying to make us put in more effort to have our voices heard!

The more we complain, the more likely the council and harbour authority will listen to us and take action!

We have to 'pay and display' for the use of these facilities. We at least expect the cleats to be sound!

e-mail is to easy, they don't want to encourage people to get in touch!
Writing a letter takes a little effort.
Could someone write one, post a link to it here, then we could all print it off and post it?
