"Merlot" doesn't tell anyone anything. It's just a boatbuilder's label for a colour, like a car maker's label "titanium", say, doesn't tell you what shade of silver

You need to get the gelcoat from the dealer/manufacturer who supplied the boat, or find the RAL colour code of the colour from the dealer/manufacturer then order gelcoat in that colour, or get someone to inspect the boat and match the colour

hi thanks for that this is all i can find out F50-55682 MERLOT GELCOAT it is 12 year old boat so cant find anything about it

1996 colour chart (all I could find) Merlot was 1720011, it won't be that far out on 98/99.

There are small kits/ bottles of coloured gel you can buy from some chandlers, why not have a go and mix it up yourself, it is just like an artist matching a colour on the palette and not that hard once you get the hang of it.

I am guessing this is for your 2 12" scratches I have read on another post?

Even with the coded gel you will still have to add to it to get it spot on, some are dealt with quickly and others can be a pain.

Your a bit far away to make it cost effective for me to visit and sort it for you, but would do it for free if you post me the boat :D

Have you tried CFS Fibreglass, they may be able to help you out, but i usually buy in 5.5kg tins £60, not sure if they do smaller amounts as you probably only need 100g max.

Smaller chandlery kits are about £20, but it's finding them.

Do you mean the wine Merlot?
I tried it once- not recommended!
There's Merlot and Merlot.
Try the Graf de La Tour produced by Villa Russiz, frinstance.
You might still not like it, but at least you'll have tried a proper one.
