Could someone please provide feedback on these engines? I am considering repower options for one of my boats. They are 340hp petrol engines for those who dont know. I think my Sunseeker XPS34 would go nicely with this sort of power. Petrol cost is not an issue where I am so disregard that aspect. Reliability, longevity, spares availability etc are what count. They are unused 2002 models, still in original crates, but at about 3500 sterling each (complete but without drive) they are worth considering (subject to feedback here). I know the petrol vs diesel considerations on boat value, running costs etc.
Thanks.

Buy them immediately, don't fit them to your S/S, they would be a waste. Sell them on instead, at that price they are an absolute steal.

I think you will find them underpowered for your boat, they are a basic small block engine with different cams to up the power. No problems as far as I can gather.

its based on the mercruiser 6.2mx ( 320hp) quite a powerful small block engine which is an uprated 350 mag engine. you can fit, as far as i can remember, the racing bravo 1 xz leg, this combo is used in quite a few american power boats, but not sports cruiser types, again i think they would be too heavy, these engines were designed really for lightweight sports/ performance boats.

In the States they are looked upon as uprated ski boat engines to power 22 footers or so- but thats the power mad and low fuel cost Americans!

sounds like a good price though.
