mercury outboard year?

Hi all.

trying to work out the year of my mercury outboard, Cant seem to find any serial numbers anywhere?

Im guessing around mid 80's, will get a pic up tomo morn...

Any ideas where the serial numbers are or should be?

Awesome, Looking at that id say mine was 1986.... still not 100% convinced!

Mercury are stupid.

theres another site with them on cannot find the site. Some years have very slight changes, also between diff' countries

have checked out all the links and still cannot find out the year,

The serial number is: 9206815

You should be able to see a vid above! graphics are not original!

This engine is going on ebay shortly if anyone is interested!

Difficult without original graphics and need to see front clamshell latch. Could be anything between mid 70's to late 80's.

50hp, 4-cyl, serial no range 9195686- 9248005, year 1978, manufactured in Belgium

Edit: The red stripe resembles 1992, but the double white/grey above and below doesn't seem right. Somebody along the way did a repaint & DIY label?

Spi D looks spot on, late 70's with replacement graphics.
