40hrs from Harwich.... one hit... leave Thursday evening, and you'll be there for Friday evening Festivities.... leave Sunday morning, and you'll be tucked up in your home berth by Monday evening....
... well apart from Sixpence.... it'd be 4 days for him...... but don't seem to be putting him off none.... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Do you get the feeling this could be one very long and tiring weekend ?????
I did Brightlingsea to Solent and return singlehanded in Flipper - 3 day sails each way. B'sea to Dover, Dover to Brighton, Brighton to Solent. On the return I went from Solent to Eastbourne, Eastbourne to Ramsgate, Ramsgate to B'sea. All at a cruising speed of 4.5 knots

I have done Bradwelll to Brighton solo non-stop in just over 24hrs. After a few hours kip then headed further west. Portsmouth is another 50miles or so, therefore 40hrs non stop from Harwich is about right I would guess. It could certainly be an interesting (long) weekend !
I recall when I went to pay in Brighton that I asked if they had calculated the cost for a bigger boat or a week stay or something, unfortunately not - just south coast prices.
oooooooooh Peter, dont get me started. I'm pretty sure it was the same trip when I arrived in Brighton maybe 2am, and intended (and did) leave at 6am or so, and was charged the full overnight rate ....... £28ish I think it was.
(AIS going in the post tomorrow by the way)
First time we went there we were 44'.
Since then Guapa's been shrinking at the rate of 2' per year - just to keep costs more or less level.
Giving it a miss from now on - don't think I could pass her of for 38'.
Though it's kind of an East Coast marina - half the time you're stuck in the mud.
