Hi all . I’ve recently purchased a boat with the above engine on .The broker didn’t really go through the process of starting procedure,my fault as thought it would be straight forward . Before purchase the engine did have a problem with the tilt / hydraulic ram but this turned out to be a wiring connection problem apparently. The battery needed a good charge which now has been done and I tried out ram and all good .Turned on ignition and all instrument lights came on with gauges all working. Yesterday I wanted to move boat out of garage and no ignition cluster lights came on and ram not working ? There is 12v power to starter motor and also to aux equipment like radio and bilge etc . Not sure what to do next I assume power goes to engine then returns to ignition switch then back again .? Does the ram only work when ignition is on ? The engine doesn’t turn over either so wondering whether there might be a trip or fuse somewhere ? Any input would be appreciated. Did go out on sea trial and all good !, Thanks Mark

Yes power goes to engine first and trim will work without ignition. I would check the battery cables from the battery and up to where they connect to the engine and work onward from there.

Ok thanks for that , would you know what is the colour and position of the supplying wire on harness plug in engine ? also if I put a separate feed on ignition would that then power it all up ?

The wiring diagram here may help you but may only apply to much older engines
