Mercruiser to Volvo Repower

More worldly wisdom required!

Considering going from a 5.0 mercruiser installation to a 5.0 volvo installation from bravo 3 to dp drive - anyone had any experience of this - mostly looking for issues with the transom shields and adaptability.

Budget £500 to have the transom blanked, filled, glassed and cut to the new VP hole and you should be fine, if by chance the VP shield is larger all round than the Merc then you have an excellent result but I don't know if that is the case. £500 was my cost when going from a VP290 leg to VP DPE leg...
 
There are different cut-out sizes for the various vp outdrives.

"Big" includes 290, DP-A -> DP-E, DP-G, DP-H etc.
"Small" includes DP-S, SX as found on petrols and D3.
