Does anyone know of an American company who will supply Mercruiser parts to the UK?

The prices here are ridiculous compared to the American prices - Almost double.

The normal VM route does not work as the parts are Mercruiser.

Namely:

805268 dual station oil sender
49734 dual station water temperature sender
52382 Bush for water temp sender

Each time I spend ages trying to order these parts, at the very end it says they are not allowed to supply to the UK ----- I wonder why???

I agree about the price of parts over here. Even at todays usd / ukp exchange rate it has been worthwhile buying and shipping. Including shipping and import VAT the saving was around 40% on UK prices and the delivery was better.

I've sourced from these guys and their service was excellent.

www.dougrussell.com

handy parts diagrams on line too.

volvo and yanmar have these despicable restrictive practices but doug russel can supply merc parts in a couple of days. Prices almost always the same number in dollars as they are in pounds here so you save 1/3 ish less shipping.

a reason to buy merc IMHO.

I am well chuffed with this thread as I have a 4.2 D tronic (250) and the contacts for parts will be invaluable- is there a way i can save this thread to refer to later or must i manually cut and paste the contact websites?

I bought a lot for my twin V6 installation - http://www.facebook.com/groups/179427293999/ - in the States. Prices here in the UK were crazy by comparison, even allowing for cost of shipping, import duty and vat! I found suppliers through Google but also bought through ebay.com.

Hi Daka,

Yes I did see your post and had a chat with Shane whi I have dealt with before. He seemed somewhat puzzled by my reuest and sent me a number of different alternatives non of which seemed to fit the bill.

Thanks to all for the responses of buying parts in USA - I dont feel like such a tight arse now!!!!
