Hello
I’ve just bit the bullet and fitted a reconditioned 4.3 efi v6 mercruiser after the last one suffered water ingress and self destructed.

I’ve got a weird oil leak from the starboard side that is coming from under the exhaust manifold, it’s actually blowing out at about 2000 rpm, a slight splatter effect where I hold my hand under there. I can’t get in to see more. Any ideas what might be wrong?

There’s another leak from the sump or front pulley :(

Had to put a litre of oil in after only 2 hours use.

As a side not, I think it’s this oil that is dripping onto the starter and electrics in that area and blowing a fuse that helpfully cuts the engine (fuse that also / only controls the fuel pump?)

Any help most appreciated thanks

First leak could be from head gasket, oil pressure sensor or dipstick-----all from memory.
The sumps can rust through but could be bad crankshaft seal.
Where you can't get your head in to see properly best bet is use a mirror and torch to see whats going on, or use a camera.
