winterizing mercruiser 350 magnum (5.7 ltr 300HP)

can anyone help me I need to drain off block etc but cant remember how many blue drain plugs there is for this engine. last year I got the local engineer to do it and I think there was 5 blue plugs can anyone with this engine confirm this

cheers

There is for each manifold underneath in the center, and one each side of the motor block to the rear of the engine mounts.
But why drain it off, its more usual to run the engine on a hose to flush it, then connect a funnel and hose to the water muffs, and mix up a couple of buckets 50/50 water antifreeze and pour this in until it comes out of the exhaust and shut down, then its protected against frost and corrosion. Whereas if there is air and some water in the block it will rust.

How do you run the engine with Muffs and a hose when its still in the water?

Raise the drive, put a small plastic bin over it, lower the drive & bin, pour mix in the bin and run for a bit.

thanks spannerman, my last boat (5.7 ltr EFI 260HP) had the 4 plugs as you describe plus I had to remove hose between thermostat housing & circulating pump) + 2 other hoses underneath but this engine is different I can only find block plugs on port side only & there is no plugs under exhaust manifold, perhaps I will go and speak to the chap that done it last year.
BTW great idea with antifreeze - as boat is out the water should be easy to do
