Mercruiser Bravo 3 Rams

The anode threads on one of my rams have become worn and the bolts no longer 'hold'. Is it feasible to rethread and 'helicoil' these to avoid the necessity of new rams etc etc.?
Think they are M6 bolts. Any advice greatly appreciated.

Wouldn't it be just as easy to tap them out to M8? There's barely any physical load on these bolts, as long as there is a metal/metal connection it should be fine?

Had thought of that but wasn't sure of wall thickness. I've assumed that going the helicoil route might eat into the existing material less.
