Thanks for that zt. Nice boat (long way though its near Belfast) and right up my street. And I've never looked on boatshop before. Another site to keep my eye on. I'm still a few £k short at the moment. Shame because I think its a bargain. There's a nice s23 in Plymouth as well.

You don't have to use the iridium plugs NGK ITR4A15 you can still run on NGK BPR6EFS you just have to change them every service, or instead of the Iridium plugs use the AC 43-993 Platinum plug. Plug gap is critical for the Iridium plug they come 1.5mm which is the gap specified by the manufacturer

The 993 is fine, as mentioned in my earlier post. Not sure about the standard NGK though.

Yes, Mercury started using the iridium plug on the small block range to reduce plug changes every service, just because your engine is an MPI it doesn't mean you have to use the ITR plugs, however, the big block 8.2MagHO doesn't use them or the latest 4.5MPI & 6.2MPI they use BPR5EFS.
The cheaper platinum plug 41-993 would be a better option they are OEM original fit.
