mercruiser 470 power trim solonoid wirng?

is anyone clued up on this please? my solonoid isnt wired properly and the wires showing aren't the same as in the manual! ive recently bought a fjord 21' boat needing some tlc and this is my first snag!

Should be pretty simple, one wire to power up, another for down and 'maybe an earth.

If you have access, remove the wires and connect a meter or test lamp to sort the up wire from the down and earth, use a live wire to check up and down work after checking you have a good earth, all of this can be done at the motor or the control station.

Let us know what you find and we can go to the next tests.

hmm right , blue motor wire up, green wire down , motor earth to a connection on the solonoiod. if i connect a live to blue or green it sparks, or thru a voltmeter i get 12.9v green to red and 9v blue to red . oh and theres fluid in the pump ! this is my first inboard and leg ! pardon me if i sound thick!

whoops, and i cant get the leg to lower, and cant hear the motor run!, is there a workround for lowering a leg ?

right , ive removed the trim motor , only to find the electrical part full of water! guess thats why it didnt work....
