mercruiser 4.3 MPI . servicing

Hi all, looking for tips and advice to servicing the above myself
My 2003 boat is in spain and I have no one to service the engine /alpha 1 leg ,other than huge non caring marinas with a real spannish attitude .I have seen comments regarding eletronic fuel pump filters drying out .Any tips on lubes ,oils and gasgets etc .Thanks .

Where abouts in Spain are you? I am sure there are a lot of forumites around who could recommend good marine engineers in Spain.

He is very flexible and I have used him a lot.

Thanks to mikemwf for possible engineer to contact in spain , but does anyone have any tech tips specific to merc 4.3 MPI ?
There is always something worth knowing .

I have the 4.3 EFI and Its an easy engine to service, the only tricky part is if you want to change the impellor in the leg. This forum has lots of info, including the service manuals if you don't already have them:

I service my engine myself, for exactly the same reason you want to, and at the very least you know the oil has been changed.
