mercedes om636 wire colours

Im trying to sort out the wiring on the charging system as there currently isnt one!
On the first engine the alternator has been replaced at some time and two wires are cut that seem to trace to a replacement lucas voltage regulator in the wheelhouse.
There are 3 wires in total at the regulator end, grey blue and yellow but im unsure which terminals they go on and which one goes to the battery,
yellow appears to be the charge wire, does anyone know what the other two are or have diagrams of colour codes for the wiring system?
I have a few diagrams off net but they are v basic and not colour coded!
