odd boat, why is the spray hood thing so far forward?

We have a lveaboard here on "WILD BEAST II"
Not sure if it is the boat or it's owner?

Also a big mobo called "PETTY CASH".

It's not a spray hood. The cat is designed and run as day tripper for tourists and the hood is a sun shade. I doubt it would be out of port if spray was likely to go anywhere near it!

π Sing In The Wind - Nice Gitiana 40 I looked at which is online for sale. That's a "Pi" sign at the front.

Is that in Ipswich? We've been on that boat if it is. A really nice couple own it. We rafted against them and ended up drinking lots of wine with them. If so it's a Gitana 43! It's a really nice boat.

Was on the Thames last weekend near Windsor (brother insisted I have a go in his new motorboat - 5 litre V8 on a river where you can only go 5mph - but that's another story!)

Anyway, went past a canal boat that brought a smile to my face called "R.G. Bargee"

I once shared ownership of a tatty old International 14 racing dinghy; after we learned the hard way that it was indeed a lemon, at my chums' suggestion we painted it yellow and called it 'Coward's Way'.

Also mentioned before, I remember a Feeling yacht called 'That Sinking Feeling' and a racer called 'Red Alert' - I shouldn't think either were very popular with the Coastguard.

There was the Type 22 warship 'HMS Beaver'; I always imagined her crew must be super - tough, to stroll into Portsmouth wearing a hat with that in glittering gold ! :)

Heart surgeon's Moody - Tachycardia

Numerous "Betty Swallocks" on mobos

Seas the Day

Don't Panic - heard on the VHF when it caught fire, soon put out and Coastguard couldn't resist it.

Fast block racer went aground some years ago on Ryde Sands. When the lifeboat got it floating they reported on Ch16 to Solent Coastie words to the effect of

".....have located Kinky Black Underware & pulled it off........."

How about "Blew Movee" - on a power boat

My dad's Solo dinghy - "Poubelle" - sounds rather nice until you realise it's french for dustbin. He still races it BTW & was 86 yesterday.
