Memorable boat names

Even the Scots dialect impaired must like the mirror dinghy called:
"Maid Freya Kitt"
Someone posted it the last time this theme came round.

Mobo in falmouth Marina..."Unsinkable II"
A long time ago I had an 18ft single hander catamaran with trapeze called "Cats An Over"!
club mate with Laser called..."Pistol Kight"

Ingotism - the boat of the Bank of England - even though we don't have a gold standard nowadays... It was an Oyster the time we we rafted up together.

They used to have a Bene 42s7 of the same name - now known as Ingo - one of Beneteaus best that Farr design imho

"Purple Headed Trouser Ferret" is one from a dinghy that always makes me laugh.

Hi, Had a 16 foot outboard powered plywood cruiser once-way back in the seventies. Private Eye through the good offices of the late Peter Cook gave Barry Humphries a job doing a regular strip cartoon about an uncouth Aussie named Barrie McKenzie. We called our renovated boat "BAZZA" after this ficticious character. One day while exploring the Oxford Canal a couple of P.E. readers called across the lock " Hey sport-where's your technicolour yawn" It bought the house down.

During WW2, the RN had the Flower class of corvette, all named surprisingly after flowers. My favourite has always been HMS PANSY. I can always picure the scene and hear the call at inter-ship competitions:
"Come on You PANSIES"

Lacanooky, and WOFTAM (Waste Of Friggin Time And Money). Also Amow, (All My Own Work).

Finally, The Pride Of Oleron, named after the small island off the the Spanish coast where the Magnacerter was signed and the first Laws of the sea.

She was also referred to as POO:eek:

'TIAMI" a cat in Barbados

This Is A Major Investment.
