Good evening all.
I haven't searched for cleaning of boat cover windows on here, just wanted to share something i have picked up from car cleaning.
I've recently purchased a protofino 31 and the camper cover windows are very cloudy. My first thoughts where to just get them replaced
but as its the only cover that came with the boat i would have to tarp it up while the repairs where done.
I then looked into the option of trying to resore them with car cleaning products and found Meguires PlastX
I gave it a quick try on one of the rear windows of the cover and was very surprised with the results:)

I used Plastx on a canopy windows a few years a go . It worked well - perhaps not restoring to as good as new but certainly an improvement.
I heard Brasso liquid metal polish would do the same but haven't tried that.

I've used Brasso wadding, or "Duraglit" as it used to be on flexible plastic windows in the past with good results.
Good for getting off those stains & marks where the support frame rubs against the window.

I don't think the liquid version would be as good.

I have also used it; there is of course a limit to what it is going to achieve. If the windows are creased etc, the result is alot less impressive.
Great results in this case though.

Great stuff that PlastX, Autoglym SRP also works very well at cleaning them up , even more so if you have a machine polisher with the smaller 3"pads and are brave enough to try it, although PlastX does feel as if it helps replace some of the softening plasticisers ( if that's the right word) that keep the window material supple. I'm sure there is another liquid that I've used on cars a while back which def claims to help condition the material which would help prevent them going stiff/ brittle and cracking when being removed or fitted.

Cheers for the comments, it really did show good results after a very brief practice on the left hand window, it was previously the same as the other 2, hopefully get down at the weekend and weather permitting I can tackle the other Windows, although if the weather is good the temptation will be to get out on the water
