Any body know who owns the fantastic yacht with the heli on the pad thats sat at gunwharf right now, wow! heads will turn if its there all weekend sorry no pics but wil try get some if its still there sunday.

She must be more or less on her maiden voage, though she has nipped up to Scanidinavia and back - not sure if seatrial/commissioning or owner use. She has been moored alongside at Devonport Yard in Plymouth where was built. I saw her there about a month or two ago while crossing on the ferry from Saltash to Plymouth. aAnd definitely not a sunseeker; just has the same name)

It says the designr is Laurent Giles. Izzat right? I thought he designed ancient ole nanky raggie boats? Er,which at the time were obviously quite nice. Though lacking in the size dept to the tune of about 70metres...

You need better sources! Just about every large yacht that docks over here in North America or the Pacific is rumoured by clueless locals to be "Bill Gates' yacht", I guess the same phenomenon occurs in Europe re: Roman. At least Abramovich owns numerous large yachts so every now and then you might be right to claim the rather large yacht berthed in your marina belongs to him- Gates owns no yacht! SAMAR is NOT Roman's new yacht. Roman already owns two significantly larger yachts.
The owner is a billionaire Kuwaiti who owns an engineering firm and a bank. The yacht is named after his daughter. I won't name him on the forum, but he shows up on most "rich lists" so if you are really curious you can figure his name out yourself via Google. My boss went to university with him years ago, so I can assure you this info is correct.
Build cost was nowhere near 70 million Euros let alone £70 million. Amazing how much misinformation about large yachts is bandied about.
