I wrote a while back about finally finding my birth father Tony Curphey and one of my half brothers, Ian, and his family. We met in November last year and I thought I would share some photos of us. We got along great, he is lovely, and I'm definitely a chip off the old block. He is currently in the process of preparing to launch for a trip around Scotland once it warms up. I'm now back in Australia and enjoying a 30 plus degree summer.
Happy sailing. Elliott.

There can be no better recommendation for a Nicholson 32 than Tony Curphey chose one!
Before that he circumnavigated in a Folksong. Fitted it out in the same yard and at the same time as I fitted out the Corribee and where you too later had your last boat! But you prob knew that😄
Top bloke and endlessly resourceful retaining the vital gsoh!

It is a great yard. The owner has jumped through some council hoops and is building a house down one end of it.
Interesting.

I learnt a lot (as did everyone else there!) about moving boats around and more and the power of all pulling together to keep the costs affordable ..
Such a lovely place early of a birdsong summers morning😎

So we nearly met at Paynes😂
No, before your vega

Tony and I were quietly fitting out our boats ( he was the only guy I told of my own plans as he was a can do chap with a plan, not a dreamer ).

There was no tea room. And if there were, who would claim sofa rights? Have to get there early I expect on a damp day 😄

There was ‘ The Wednesday Club’ where the real oldies (including a couple with early dementia) would potter and Get Things Done , under the patient kindliness of old Glen. Nowadays it’s caught on a bit and we have Mens Sheds or sommat in towns!
