cool, two other medway boaters all ready i keep kwester in gillingham marina, had a ride up too the town pier at rochester on sunday, enjoyed a few pints in the rochester bar, nice day had, im often up and down the medway through out the year
I'm based at Cuxton Executive Marina. I hope you keep with the Medway traditions and sport a fine collection of different sized and coloured fenders, keep left, and attend the Medway Midsummer Meet every errr...summer. We almost had several boats within sight of each other on nearly the same day once.
Fred (Oddgit) heads up the non executive committee in charge of events that almost happen and has been known to venture out in a Force 1 moderating, he just doesn't care and has been seen returning from an epic adventure to Allington with eggy stains down the front of his Navy Surplus WW2 U Boat commanders jumper and "Jack Hawkins" duffel coat worn in a jaunty devil may care way with toggles undone.
Hope to see you soon and welcome to the Medway Massive.

And the finalists from the Best boat on the Medway 2009 competition...
Used to keep my boat at Cuxton Executives marina and the at sunny Beacons Boatyard on mud. Now she's in sunnier climes ala Yerseke. S. Holland wintering in a shed with a sun lamp to keep er warm.
Did spend a week back in 2008 at Cuxton on route to Thames and a month at Beacons on the return to Holland.
Did splash out once and attended the Maidstone Rally way back in the dark ages as part of the ADLS drinking team.
Now I'm keeping my old bones warm in Vietnam and spending my days trolling the boat web sites and swindler sites to see what I could be spending all that interest money on, which at present amounts to a puncture repair kit for the ships folding bike.
That reminds me I must try to organise the yearly pre-xmas beer and curry night on the Rochester Queen again soon. You now, the like one we had 2 or 3 years ago....
the mere mention of the name conjures up clear blue skips and empty water(bottles),this picture was taken in the middle of last winter ,you can just see the power station in the background.
Our rowing boat is parked just behind some rich gits tax fiddle gin palace which came along and blotted out the sun,we spent the entire afternoon trying to dodge the champagne bottles being thrown over the side,we did manage to salvage some of the canapes they discarded, bit salty but perfectly edible by poor people..
nice place port medway, had a great night with friends in the rochester queen till the small hours on a couple of occations, ive only ever been past cuxton as yet on my way up to allington lock, weve met lots of different characters in the medway, and had some great fun, looking forward to meeting more folk as we continue to enjoy the delights of kents finest waterway ha ha. and yes i do have a fine selection of odd shape, size and colour fenders, none of them sparkling wight but all pump up ready for action
