Medway River Islands

Good, ole navionics.

Well, considering everything in this thread I need a dinghy.

I could anchor at stangate creek and then use the dinghy to get to interesting places. I definitely want to see these old forts and cannons up close. Not so much interested in the bones of old prisoners, although I think theyre taken care of already.

Also, I thought you leave the creek at a rising tide and take a shortcut going west aka away from buoy nr 16? Im confused.

If it was illegal or dangerous to land there one would think it would be covered in signs warning KEEP OFF but there arent any.
Just rumours about you might catch the plague!
Its an important bird reserve for little terns. Anyway why would you poke around in a graveyard? Have some respect.

I went there many years ago once, it is an eerie place. Seems to be visited fairly regularly by mudlarks these days. I expect the terns love the noise of their hovercraft by now.

I don't see any reason why man cannot co exist with nature providing sensible precautions are taken. The history associated with the Medway area is part of it's attraction.

Well, if the birds are disturbed too much they go away and look for a different place. Which may be bad because there might not be a new one. Its just intrusion.

Coexisting means to also know when not to disturb. Its like sharing a flat with someone. Just because youre flatmates and live together doesnt mean you can just barge into their room at any minute without knocking.

So yeah, please just dont go there when its their season. Get binos and watch them from the sea.

No 16 bouy.
From Ye oldegits How could anything possibly go wrong school of navigation. Only the very best waterproof parchment used.

and only 29 waypoints. :)
Wow, that is 25 more waypoints than I used to sail to the Isles of Scilly 4 years ago. I presume you just used your autopilot to avoid any helming errors. :) :) :)
