funny you should ask that because London VTS get just a bit snotty if you call them Woolwich Radio. Heard many visitors getting confused with LON VTS answering their call to Woolwich .... and VTS dont seem to be able to come back and say " were are now called London VTS " to clarify the situ.

No such problems here in the Bristol Chanell, Bristol VTS will answer to Avonmouth radio and even to "Excuse me but can we go up the river now?"
Its true, I actually heard that!

Hi Alex,
I know the real reason they had to change their name. It was a genuine misunderstanding, I assumed naturally enough that they would play requests. They got fed up being asked to play those old Elvis tunes we all love!
Nowadays its been very sad I know but the Co-op piped music seems to play all my favorites. There goes my street cred!!

Re: Medway .......erm VTS.

As 99% of the leisure craft using the Mudway seem to be unaware that the square box on the dash board actually has a CH 74 innnit, doubt it willl make much difference. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
Frequently when attempting to call one or two of the speeders out of Medway Bridge Marina passing by and mention that the speed limit in Chatham reach applies to everybody, silence is the usual reply.
