More money spent on the Thames.
Not as generous as you might think. The money allocated is well under half the amount needed to cover annual capital maintenance projects needed to maintain the navigation as required by statute.
£1 million pounds to maintain £425 million asset value is a joke.

An asset to whom ? . Not the 99.9 % of people in the UK who to not benefit in any way shape or form from the Thames and yet are asked asked to help fund it for the enjoyment of a lucky few . ?
Of which I count myself one.

We should then also be funding at the same rate all Theatres,Art Galleries,Museums,Memorials etc etc that do not benefit in any shape or form the 99.9%.
But you know that:)
X factor is popular with the masses:)

Thames boating is also a spectator sport. There are plenty of underaverage pubs and restaurants that make a good living due to the publics desire to watch boats going up and down. Watching boats in locks seems to be a day out for some as well.
I don't think that anyone is going to spend the afternoon on the pavement enjoying the new bicycle super highway, which we're all paying for wether we like it or not.

Suspect that the above organisations are all suffering from exactly the same cuts, which as you may recall is precisely what the great english public voted for but a few short months ago.
However in defence of them, they all provide a service which most of us can take advantage of,should we so choose. Most galleries are free even private ones,as are museums, even the theatres can be visited at a cut rate by anybody.
Difficult to imagine somebody in say Liverpool suddenly deciding to enjoy using a lock on the Thames on a whim purely because some of their taxes are paying for it.

"X factor is popular with the masses" and One Direction is splitting......is there no end to this woe :)
