The leaders dash for the finish,rest of competitors are out of shot down near Sheerness about an hour behind..
Somewhere in the creeks to the north are the remains of three WW1 submarines scrapped after war.
Featured recently on Coast TV progarmme.
One of the diesel generators was pressed into service to power a local woodyard (Morgans of Strood),still going strong today.
