It's an Antibes posse vs St Carles vs Cala D'or vs Solent vs N Wales gauntlet, but it has to be an open water raft, rather than tied to a pontoon (if I throw down the gauntlet, then I get to write the rules)
Es Trenc?
Is second from right (Targa 62) "HTL" with name blanked out?
We are going for the record tomorrow.... watch this space!Great pic. I can feel a "most number of boats in a raft" challenge coming on ....![]()
I'd imagine that with not much of a tide they'd just hang off one anchor and raft to the centre boat.
Whats' the Mallorca posse's deal on courtesy flags Cloud9? Middle boat = sort of ok I think, two on the left have none, two on the right are both flying c/flag on the port side.
Well spotted... its all a bit laid back out here! I have mentioned it to those who have none and the Puerto de Sabina chandlery is doing brisk business.
I have a dilemma with CLOUD9. Advice required. I fly the club burgee on the starboard side as I have a warrant for the (defaced) Blue ensign. The courtesy flag therefore demoted to the Port side. I remember researching it and finding the advice on this situation a bit inconclusive. Thought about asking at the time but loathed to start a 'flag etiquette thread'. Talking of flags....I am also am surprised that hardly anyone seems to bring in their ensign at sunset. I am trying to knock the Cala d'Or posse into shape!
Just as well you didn't come to Sant Carles then.
We are in Catalonia so we fly both the Spanish and the Catalan flags.
That would have given you an extra flag to fly.
When away in other countries, we do fly the appropriate courtesy flag.
Have you ever tried trying to buy a Sardinian or Corsican flag?
Don't know about Sardinia, but buying a courtesy flag for Corsica is very easy, they are widely available in the chandleries in Antibes for example, and I think we bought our last one at the little shop on the beach at Girolata.

I'm no expert but the dilemma is solved on sailing boat with space at top of mast by putting club burgee at top of mast (or exceptionally, and sometimes with permission needed) on the bow, leaving the stbd spreader for the courtesy flag. There isn't an obvious equivalent to that on a mobo. I think, but I'm not sure and don't see much consistency on the point, that yachts with this dilemma (due to not being able to put club burgee at top of mast where it interferes with tech equipment) put the club burgee and courtesy flag side by side on separate halyards on the starboard spreader. On a mobo the equivalent would seem to require two little staffs on the starboard side, or the club burgee on the bow (with permission, if the club in question requires it. I believe NYYC is a permission case and RYS surely is, and probably both give permission sparingly, but perhaps many other clubs don't care - I don't know). For sure you cannot have the club burgee above the courtesy flag on the same halyard/staff, or vice versa - both are wrong, or at least "wrong".I have a dilemma with CLOUD9. Advice required. Sardinia flag is easy Jimmy, just buy 4 Corsica flags, cut out the head shapes, and glue one in each corner of that St George's flag you have hanging from your bedroom window. You can stand on the transit van to reach it![]()
Does that mean that if Jimmy and I were to raft up between you and NickH we would get 'free' zero speed stabilisationIf any boats have zero speed stabilisation, it is better switched on (provide fin clashes can be avoided, which usually they can).
Do tell, why on earth JTB is hanging the ancient Genoa Maritime Republic flag from his bedroom window...that St George's flag you have hanging from your bedroom window
LOL, are you already regretting not to have fitted the Seakeeper this winter?Does that mean that if Jimmy and I were to raft up between you and NickH we would get 'free' zero speed stabilisation![]()
