We're curently wintering in Palma - next year heading to French & Italian Rivieras, Corsica & Sardinia.

I have read that there is are publications called Votre Livre de Bord and Mercado Nautico which give details of marina charges - can anyone tell me how & where to get these guides ?

Thanks

John

Livre de bord is "required eqipment" on french-registered boats. You'll find them in almost every chandlery in france. Very good, very cheap too - 20 euros i think, with actual up to date phone numbers.

livre de bord has marina prices too, although these vary massively in the season and could fill a book on their own.

I *think* livre de bord is better than other pilots for france because of the french regs that a copy must be on board - hence wider useage and tacitly higher onus on the publishers to update the info.

Also note livre de bord has med and atlantic version so make sure you buy the right one. LdeB is exhautive for france, not so exhautive (doesn't cover all ports) for neighbouring countries, tho quite a lot.

AGREE RE LIVRE DE BORD GREAT THAT USEFUL INFO IS IN ENGLISH AND FOREIGNSPEAK.WON'T BE BUYING REEDS OR CA FOR 2006 PASSAGE FROM GIRONDE TO GIB.2006 EDITION NOW AVAILABLE FOLLOWING PARIS BOAT SHOW

The French "Bloc marine" Votre livre de board can be found at any bookshop or most Tabaccs even some supermarkets stock them- indeed about 20euros! It goes up every year

The last one i bought new in 2002 cost 16.50euros, If you look around you can find "last years" at half price!!
