Med heatwave

This is a new one for me, we are supposed to go boating this afternoon but none of us have the wherewithal to step outside into the heatwave. Of course I can’t admit that :(

On my way there now. Plane taxiing. Love the heat. Villefranche or lerins anchorage all weekend. Mcanderson where is your pic just above taken please? And what’s the jellyfish situation? Thanks.

No jelly’s in the Lerins today .
It’s ok @ anchor breezy , it in the marinas where it’s really felt .Ive been firing up the geny airco and slow cruise back to get a head start on cooling in the marina . Seen 38 on the cabin screen - eek .!
After 9 pm it’s safe to venture out into town :) - sweaty wise !

John,

It was in the bigger of the two bays on the south side of St Jean Cap Ferrat. Anse de Lilong as it is marked. It’s a great spot.

We saw a couple of jellyfish, but literally it was two or three and didn’t stop us swimming.

Mike might be planning on VF on Sunday and we might catch up with him there.

Thanks for the weather and reports guys and the good news re jellyfish. Very much looking forward to a hot boating weekend. I’m hanging out with A&K squadron 58 a bit with itinerary undecided. Drop by if you see us around. Mike (presuming that’s Deleted User) maybe see you in morning though I have to drop off Land Rover disco for repair first so might not be at dock till 11am by which time you might have gone. No worries. Bon week-end everyone.

It’s delightful at sea in Antibes area. Calm, breeze from east 6 knots but nicely 16 knots apparent, air temp 27.5 (at noon) and sea temp 26.7 deg (from a pair of airmar probes 1.2m below surface). We’re on passage to villefranche. Deleted User I walked past your boat- Bimini repairs happening but boat itself looked closed up. Perhaps see you later.

We have 33.9 on our official weather wall (€10 from SuperU) and 28 water courtesy of mr Volvo Penta.

Back in the Anse d’ Lilong with some chop leaving Nice port and arriving here. Most due to wash.

Well you lot missed out on a treat at the Welsh Med this weekend. Mist on Saturday, Wind on Sunday but neither slowed us down. Usual suspects, same casualties. :p

It looks beautiful, Bruce. Truly beautiful.
You’re not missing much, the heat, the mosquitoes, the crowd

:D

:encouragement:

Fair enough. We did have a absolute blast though. Not the done thing to paste everybody's mug on the web without consent but it was an excellent social and the kids had a ball with minimum adult supervision. One for the memory books.

One for the memory books.
That’s the only thing that matters :encouragement:
What you can’t tell from my photos is the disco until 3:00 am. Sent the dog crazy. He jumped into our bed to be comforted by his mother, I stormed out because I was already upset at being attacked by mossies all night because I had to leave all the doors and windows open because it was too hot for the dog.......
There’s a lot to be said about Welsh Wales, Bruce. The grass isn’t always greener :ambivalence:

You can’t hear the geny much from the bow cabin , remember that design ?
So we run Aircon all night , with windows / door shut .

Never been a night in a trendy mid cabin ( I know yours is not btw ) but speccing or paying for ( cos it’s included) a geny + ac in the Med and not being able to max out on Mozzi mitigation is madness only realised after the first pm @ anchor .
Furthermore the widows in the mid set ups can’t waft air in - bonkers design .
Obviously works at Sibs :) in selling the 8uggers
