Thought about New York cos she has allways wanted to go but I cant really take more than 3 or 4 days off at that time so prob not feasable so...is it possible to charter say a 40-50' er (crewed) for a short cruise somewere in the Med ? can anyone reccomend someone or got any alternative ideas ? oh and if my charter plan is feasable approx what cost involved.

3-4 days is loadsa time for NY. Can do it as an overnighter - take the 1800 in the evening of day 1 having worked all day ish, manhattan hotel by 10pm ish, all day 2 in NYC, overnight back, Heathrow at 9am day 3. Not suggesting you do that, just illustrating that 3-4 days is fine for NYC trip.

The sky is the limit on cost for 4 day yacht charter in Med. To get crewed you would be looking at a 50footer min. You might get that for €2000/day medium season, for an older boat ish. A newish Squad58 is say €3000/day medium season. These would have captian and stewardess

Cote D'Azur makes sense. Easy taxi from Nice Airport to boat, can visit Cannes, St Trp, Monaco, Cap Ferrat, etc. You want some pictures of these anchorages posting?

Lots of websites will list these boats. Peter insulls, ventura, bcr yachts, bluewater yachting etc. Do you want a private contact so bypass the broker? There is an oldish Ferretti Altura 52 in Antibes that does day charter, google for m/y Victoire. That would be bottom of price range and I can put you in touch with owner directly. Nice captain/stewie. If you want something more up market/spensive/newer google as above. Also if you want one-room-only check out www.somethingdifferentholidays.com This boat is based in Antibes, Mole Sud, on Magnum's old berth, nice location. It isn't fully booked, so ignore the timetable on the website and try ordering off menu

Thats probably 'coz you already mentioned yourself yourself but you're right, deep apologies. Here goes then

Suncoast is the very bestest most efficaceous training and charter company in the Med and possibly the whole wide world. Probably

I say this after wangling a sneaky visit on board a mangusta 108 called "Nobody". I spose it wd cost about 50k € a week to charter. It was all lovely and smart and doen below v avant garde with plenty of seating and utterly stainless steel galley. Then the skipper told me this was the crew quarters!

50k a week eh.
Now I love my Mrs to bits but hell no............. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
May just spend a week onboard our "shed" but treat her to a chippy dinner from Vinegar joes as its her birthday and all that.
God I know how to treat a woman, funny 1st wife didnt think so /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
