Well, as its been nearly a year since we sold our lovely Monterey, and with the suns being out loads recently I've started to think about getting out on the water again :)

Sadly not in a position to buy anything yet, so my attention turned to perhaps combining a summer holiday with a bit of boating!

Not really worried about where it is, but so far most of my searching has led me to Croatia, which is somewhere we'd like to go, and from what I've read has some great coastline!

I'm looking at sports-cruisers in the 25-30ft range, mainly because its the size I'm used to + keeps the cost down and its only the 2 of us so should be plenty big enough! Trouble is there seems to be a fairly even mix between petrol and diesel, the later being more expensive for a given size unsurprisingly!

So now for the questions..
Is petrol readily available and how much is it?
How much is Diesel?
Are the weather/sea conditions likely to still be ok towards the end of September?
Location seems to be either Biograd or Trogir/Seget are they similar area's?
What is there to see/do in these area's, are there lots of places you can moor up for a meal and stay the night? and are they expensive?
How difficult is the med style berthing, seeing as I've never even tried it
Finally, does anyone have any good/bad experience with charter companies based in Croatia? or recommendations?

TIA
Charlie

Croatia's stunning but expensive. We sailed there 2 years ago and loved it, but... It was perfect for sailing, but didn't strike me as good mobo territory. All the ports were small and close together, so it was much more about getting there than being there. Saw loads of mobos blatting from harbour to harbour only to get there hours before we did and find there was bugger all there.

Med style mooring was OK, but we did it as a flotilla holiday on a ragboat, something I can highly recommend.

Old mate BartW could be a good source of small mobo info in the area, as he takes his own down there every year, and appears quite happy to do so.

I think you will find the yachtie charter holidays to be a lot of fun, and the flotilla idea could work nicely if you haven't been there before.

Good luck...

Edit...If you add the word Croatia after Med Charter in the heading, he (Bart) will possibly have a look.
