We are inundated with return loads from the Med but have nothing heading south. Therefore if anyone requires their boat moving down to the med before Xmas please let us know and we will give you a great rate! Anything from 25' to 70'

I'm not sure but was there a subliminal advert hiding in there somewhere? :)

Actually the sort of info people on here want to hear about....time for all those dithering naysayers to move to the Med.

....try it out then if you don't like it, wait for the next transport company to issue the same statement for loads heading the other way.

Interesting that lots of people are bringing boats back from the med. Is this normal for this time of year or are times changing???

I have no connection with Russ other than as a customer. I recommend him, even at his normal rate. If you search for my sealine thread you can see pics of him loading the lorry and the tale of the delivery.

Seconded. Russ and his team took my Fairline Targa 40 down to the south of France in March last year - great service, quick delivery, all very easy. He even took my scooter down for me, on the swan neck of the trailer. Top job.

Cheers

The UK is pulling out of recession better than southern Europe at the moment so I guess some movement is inevitable. Interestingly, I've noticed a few boats ads along the lines of 'currently located x, in UK from October/November' or similar and there do seem to be even more bargain buys in Spain/Med etc. As for condition, who knows? It could be ex-pats cutting their cloth/moving home, could be they couldn't sell there or it could just be a 'grass seems greener' scenario... Will they all move back in the spring I wonder if the EU economy turns a corner?

I think this is as much people buying from the Med as it is people returning to the UK. The is a rather nice Snazi 46 being transported by Coast 2 Coast early next week.

IMHO you're right. The Med used mobo market is still depressed whereas there seems to be some activity in the UK mobo market so there may bargains to be had even adding the cost of transport. With the UK economy starting to grow and the Club Med Eurozone countries still mired in depression, this situation may continue

In our experience this industry is very seasonal. From March onwards all the boats are moving south for the summer and nothing is coming back home and then come October everything is heading north for the winter and nothing is venturing south! When we first started we were in and out of Spain every month but then we went a couple of years moving very little in to or out of there as everything was to and from France. However since March this year our trucks are regularly in Spain so things do seem to be picking up over there and hopefully it will continue. There is a lot more positivity amongst the dealers at the moment then there has been for the past couple of years so fingers crossed.

Spain now appears to be finally crawling out of recession according to news reports mainly due to upturn in exports.Lets hope things are now on the up for everyone.

If anyone decides to take advantage of Russ's offer, I've just been sent details of a very cheap 12m berth at St Jean Cap Ferrat. PM for details.
