Med boaters - will you get to your boat this year?

curious, you only scrape the front side, not the aft? I'd expect both sides to play a role, am I missing something?
Tbh I thought the same but someone told me scraping the aft side makes little difference which seems to bear fruit with what I am seeing. Interested to hear what people think

On the boat in June shortly after back in water was drinking 50 L/h at 10 knots. Back in August and this moved to 75. Tank on and 30 mins of scraping the front of the props and now back to 52 ish. Big return for little effort. At 20 knots or 1800 revs the saving is huge but the pain of watching the fuel tank empty on the dial in front of your eyes is so great it happens once a day max!!
Great post .
Fuel burn or excess is the same or as good as indicator of EGTs and load .
So for the same speed it was burning 50;% more .

Fwd facing does all the work .I clean both and the hub .

Fuel savings are worth it these days I suspect we all are starting to notice it …

Spent a combined 9 hours cleaning 3 Arneson ASD16s props. 6 days later, they needed another clean!! Unreal

Also (using EGTs / high temp alarm) worked out that a trim sensor is not reading correctly

which island are you heading to?
Yes, Porto is correct…it’s Porquerolles…this is just a test for the motor (which was recently reinstalled) and the other systems..it was also a good test for the crew…the first time we Med moored in eight months..and it went like a dream ?.. it gave me a chance to test the passerelle and I found that the battery in the remote control was flat, so changed it.
We had a quick eighty minute dog walk…the village was jam packed but out in the country it was deserted ?. Then an early lunch of salad and a sausage for the dog.
We are just having coffee (with the genny on) and then will head back to our home port in France

My boat was filthy...because I think I’m the only one obeying the hose pipe ban....I say was...because last night the heavens opened up and huge hailstones came down sideways....now my boat is lovely and clean ?

I'm currently stripping back antifoul to gelcoat on a 54 year old hull. Of all the crappy jobs I've done on a boat over the years, this is tied 1st (with removing all caulking / recaulking / sanding a Falcon 86).

Looking at all the photos very enviously!

I’m off boating tomorrow... I will be thinking of you??
