Med Berths

There will be an annual service charge but - yes - its what we have all been saying - Med boating is way cheaper than UK boating.
We prefer Sant Carles because it is a bit further into the Med and closer to the likes of Mallorca etc.
Still, nothing wrong with Duquesa - did my Yachtmaster there with Clive.
Duquesa is also a very short run from Gib so cheap fuel etc.

We've got a flat in Duquesa otherwise I might be tempted. Amazing value berths and dropped an awful lot since I last looked. I try and meet up with Clive when we're out there or at least go and watch him perform.

I have to say that even I'm shocked by how cheap those berths are and I've been boating in the Med 11yrs. I guess that's an indication of the economic depression in Spain and other Club Med countries. On the other hand, one reason I haven't bought a berth myself is that I would not want to be tied to one location for 15yrs or whatever and I guess the fact that these berths won't be easy to sublet, should you fancy moving on elsewhere, is reflected in the low price. Still, if you live in the area, it's cheap boating

I've been into Duq a few times from Gib, has Clive still got his jet boat? I know his shop closed. He found my current boat and arranged the sale, friendly and helpful chap. We left there in 2011 to bring the boat around to Sant Carles, even stayed in his flat a couple of times.

Quiet and relaxed marina, not that far from Malaga airport.
Have stayed in the area, lots stuff to explore in the countryside beyond especially some of the hill villages.

Clive sold his jet boat and I believe enjoying retirement. I hope to see him over Easter.
