Med Berthing away from home berth - advice please!

Thanks to everyone who took the time to give me your advice on berthing in a marina that isn't your home berth. We're now back from our week on the boat in Mallorca, and made it up to Soller (what a beautiful place) and managed to nail our berth on first attempt - alarmingly next to an enormous Riva 86....We also managed to get up to Sa Calobra which was breathtakingly beautiful. Back out in August for Cabrera and the East Coast!

Here's a couple of pics.fullsizeoutput_3b5b.jpgfullsizeoutput_3b3c.jpgIMG_1536.jpg

Sa Calobra is a stunning place to visit both by boat and by car. The road down to the cala is spectacular but of course the best way to visit is in your own boat. We visited several times during our time in Majorca. Unfortunately the anchorage is exposed to any onshore wind or swell so its not really an overnight stop but makes a good lunchtime stop in the right conditions. The other issue we found was that the anchorage was often infested with jellyfish which made swimming impossible. But overall it is one of the most spectacular anchorages in Majorca and well worth the trip

It was great you had a good time and nice that you have thanked everyone for there input the forum is a really useful place to get information.
