Meaco 8DDL - humidistat failed??

When I came back to the boat a couple of weeks ago relative humidity was less than 30% despite being set to the thumbs up second highest humidity setting which used to maintain 50%
When I left I set it to the maximum humidity level 4 drops. I got back yesterday and it was again very low.
I suspect humidity stat failure. Has anyone had this problem and fixed it !?

Atmospheric humidity can be very low on cold days. If lower than the dehumidifier setting the dehumidifier won't do anything.

I agree the dehumidifier might not be faulty and would give it a further chance
I use the 'one drop' setting the last two winters on the unoccupied boat which keeps the boat interior acceptably dry.

By the way the greater the number of drops the lower the humidity will be.

My dd8L last week seemed to suddenly want to consume more power / extract water faster . It seemed to be in laundry mode yet I never set it in that mode. . I gave it a rest / unplugged for an hour or so and since then it has returned to normal behaviour.
