popped into the office at Shamrock Quay yesterday. I said that despite there already being 4 cleats, it would be really nice if I had an extra cleat a metre in front of one that was there. It would allow me to move forward to a better place without a line as a trip hazard when stepping of the bathing platform.

An hour and a half later a chap with a drill, a spanner and a brand new cleat turned up.

What kept them I wonder. :)

If I made the same request at my marina, they would say do it yourself, and return the pontoon to standard when you've finished! One chap donated some really nice planters for the square in front of the marina office. The marina manager told him if he wanted to leave them there, he would have to water them himself!
Real customer service..................................

Not for one minute have we regretted our move to Shamrock Quay. The staff and service there always excellent.

In fact they rang me on my mobile yesterday morning to let me know my generator was running. As it happens I knew as I was on board but hadn't got around to opening the curtains :). Good service though :eagerness:.

When we had those horrendous winds and rain a while back they called me a couple of times to say they'd done what they could to keep the helm dry and secure as they knew my canopy was away being fixed, even though they were running around like mad things re-securing boats, canopies etc.

Very reassuring to know they really do keep an eye on things there.

Ditto!

Very happy with out move to ov.

Service so much better than elsewhere.

Just had the letter about new walking route from south side to north and wondering why they could not connect the pontoons between North and South so you could waterside of the building site. Putting that in place would be service above and beyond.

Sounds like your marina manager has attended arkwrights school of customer service Rafiki,. I kept my boat at Shamrock quay last year, I am now at Hamble point and can honestly say I have found the staff at both of these marinas first rate and a credit to MDL....

As a unit leaseholder at Shamrock Quay I have found Jonathan, Barry, Mark and the team always helpful and accommodating. I knew Jonathan when he first started with MDL as part of the lift gang at Hamble Point way back in the nineties and have watched him progress up the ladder to manage Shamrock and Saxon marinas. He is the sort of manager that MDL should be proud of.
That's a pint for me Jon !
