Mdl sant carles marina - spain

Bart at this very moment we are in Monfalcone in Italy right in the NE end of the Adriatic where the boat has spent the winter. Its just easier for me to get here in the winter when there are no flights to Split. Tomorrow we head south again for the summer and, inshallah, we will be in Frapa near Split for Friday evening, where we will spend the summer. I intend to be back in Monfalcone in November. Yes I know that heading north for the winter sounds wrong but it has worked for me:)

do you have regular flights now from UK to Split ?
didn't you consider south Dalmatia anymore ?
I believe that there are more (budget) flights to Dubrovnic
I'm still considering Porte Montenegro for within a few years, but for now I still like it in SOF :)

Well done John. Sounds like its the Med life for you from now on and no going back. Just to redress the balance a bit, I'm sitting in my boat right now at the other end of the Med in the Adriatic and it's chucking it down and cold with it. Still tomorrow is sunny and warm so normal service will be resumed

PS your pics don't work for me

I'm in Sant Carles right now and the weather today has been great - 24 degrees - bit of wind this morning but full on sun all day.

rubbish in majorca today... windy and overcast.... last 10 days have been rubbish sailing (no wind) but that big red balls been out every day 30 deg one day :)

We are in Empuriabrava (on the Spanish side of the border with Med France) right now and it's warm and windy. However the weekend is forecast rain so travelling south on Sunday (by car) to Benicarlo and maybe dropping in at San Carlos on Monday for a look around. So if you see a lost looking couple called Jan & Dave say hello. (I've got white hair) :)

Blast, I can't get back out there for a few weeks due to work commitments..... I have some free flights from EJet too - most frustrating. I am definitely suffering from boat withdrawal symptoms at the moment, especially as I was in Southampton this morning!

Hurric:-
1) John's Squadron arrived SCM yet?
2) How are the new routers?
3) Save some Carva for me.......

Bart there are only direct flights from the UK to Split between April and October and thats a big disadvantage of mooring near Split. On the other hand, Split is right in the middle of the Dalmatian island chain so you can go north or south and find many destinations to visit. Yes, I did consider mooring at ACI Dubrovnik because of the year round flights but the marina is expensive and also when I enquired, they had no places. Dubrovnik really needs another marina. Certainly Porto Montenegro is on my radar for 2 reasons. First you can buy duty free fuel and second, with Croatia joining the EU next year, there will be VAT to pay in Croatia whereas Montenegro will still be VAT free. Frankly I'm waiting to see how sensible the Croatians are over VAT assessment before I decide to stay or go
