A couple of years ago I filled up at the Cowes fuel barge and it was only when ‘filing’ the receipt that I noticed that it had been calculated with no propulsion element to the tax calculation.

I half expected something in the post but nothing so far

Perhaps a name change to Ducky Luck will help?

No, on the leisure pontoon @ 60/40.

I have no idea what the BF/Navy or other vessels using the Commercial Pontoon pay, significantly less I assume given their capacity or application of VAT (or not)

Mmmm. Paid something like £1.25 @ 60/40 in Ramsgate just a few weeks ago. Something seems amiss. Cheapest I can buy it today, tanker delivery, at full commercial rate is 95ppl

I've filled up in Ramsgate twice in the last few weeks and I can confirm the current price is 91p per litre COMMERCIAL. The calculation of 60/40 is a bit convoluted but you pay 60% at 45p per litre and 100% at 91p per litre equating to 1.18 per litre. Got the invoice in my hand right now

£1.18 is what I paid for 60/40 at Ramsgate a week or so ago, although the invoice is as clear as mud.

I drove by PH fuel and was gobsmacked that diesel is £1.38 pl , that’s more than white derv at most Tesco stations , how dare they charge this amount , and as for the 60/40 split it’s down to the purchaser to declare the tax not the supplier .
This system is easily open to abuse by the seller .

Local yards are charging under £300 for a lift out and the lift back in, if you know somebody in the yard , sometimes less.
In a conversation with a boater on the the Thames, an eyewatering amount was mentioned for the same operation being charged by a certain mid Thames marina.
Local yacht club (MYC) will charge under £300 to lift out, up to 30 days ashore and then pop you back in.
Icing on the cake, a very good galley/bar onsite and a couple of decent pubs just outside beyond the security gate.
