I noticed in the EA that it is Marina Developments (Ipswich) Ltd. Is that part of the MDL we know or perhaps an unrelated company with a similar name?

There has been a lot of speculation that the years of exposure to the elements will have done something dire to the reinforced concrete structure, let us hope that they get it right and we don't have a collapsing building sometime in the future?

With a name that similar it would have to be a company within the same group. A seperate company to do the developement would be usual in order to ring-fence the debt.

Indeed it is a new company incorporated Feb 2014.

Perhaps more interesting is that two weeks ago they incorporated Marina Developments (Brightlingsea) Ltd

The plot thickens..........

Registered address is in Ipswich and is the same as the registered address for Marina Developments (Brightlingsea) Ltd.

MDL itself and Marina Developments (Docklands) Ltd are registered in Hamble

A director check might be interesting but I ain't paying for it and the only free source I know of isn't working today

They must be connected - there is some control over names to prevent "passing off".

The guy who has bought it is John Howard.He is a property developer and estate agent.He is M.D. of Auction House UK and Fine and Country Estate Agents in Norwich.Cannot see any link to MDL.(all according to EADT)

The directors of both Marina Developments (Ipswich) Ltd and Marina Developments (Brightlingsea) Ltd are Jeremy Scowsill and John Howard. Neither appears on the board of MDL or any of its subsidiaries

Well if I ran MDL I would be despatching a stiff letter to Companies House.

I had a client who lived in Goodwood Close (in Essex) and named his one-man decorating company to include the word Goodwood. He got a big letter from the solicitors to the Goodwood Estate.......I told him to bin it but he changed his name.

It may be unintentional, indeed probably is, but it's guaranteed to cause confusion

I can find two Marina Developments Ltd and one is Dissolved. The other doesn't list either of the gentlemen as directors but each of them have/had 70 directorships each none of them what I would reckon capable of handling the wine rack. This is indeed a puzzle and that is not good news for Ipswich which has had enough strange goings on.

I know Jeremy's son, Jeremy is an accountant with specialist knowledge of financing and managing property businesses - he is local to the Ipswich area.
