Went to the marina party on Saturday night and had an okay night, but would like to suggest a few things that could hopefully make it better:

Firstly, hold it in June / July / August - it was just too cold on saturday night, and as a result, a lot of people left early (us included). I know you can't guarantee good weather when you arrange these events, but by holding it earlier in the year, at least you have more chance of it being warmer and have a bit more daylight. I know if you have it earlier, some might argue that it is in the middle of the season, but if enough notice is given, people can choose to keep that weekend spare.

Layout - I personally think they should get a bigger marquee and position it the other way round and in the middle of that grass area. I also think they should discourage people from putting up there own little tents and gazebo's. That way hopefully there would be one big party, rather then lots of small groups scattered about the place all having there own mini parties and music. Although it was fun to be in a little group, it didn't encourage people to mingle about and mix with other groups.
Hopefully a bigger central marquee with plently of tables and chairs (and not with 'reserved' tables) for everyone would be better.

The food by the way was very good this year and very generous - hopefully the same company will be used next year.

Have to say that it was a good night and appreciatte the work the mdl staff put it to it, but I think it could be improved, as a few berth holders I know, didn't bother going because of the reasons mentioned above.

anyone else who was there have any views?

We were there as well. It was the first time for us as we only joined Windsor this year in May. I would agree with all your comments. I definitely think they would be better off just having the large marquee and no other ones allowed to enable people to talk more especially if you don't know many people! We did go and talk to groups of people but the seperate gazebos/parties made it a bit difficult although people were very friendly and welcomed us in to their parties!

Also realised you were on G pontoon a few down from where we were moored, you are moored next to friends of ours who have just brough a Crownline 242 we did wave when we left on Sunday :D

Bray members were snug in their own Gazebo's, and not as close to the infernal music, apart from the weird Windsor tent which had it's own !?

Whyyy????

Anyway, nice evening, and got thrashed at the tug-o-war. Not a bad thing looking at the Windsor Whales who had to win, given their huge bulk. :D
