Hi All. Could someone please clarify if the narrowing of the through holes on the heat exchanger are normal or a narrowing due to calcification or some other process? Should I be attempting to open this up with a narrow round file?

The images look more like an exhaust manifold rather than a heat exchanger.
The narrowing in the first image looks more like metal than calcification. Would an experimental scrape show one way or the other?

Hi,
Thanks for your response. That is correct as it is the exhaust manifold but I wasn't entirely sure about that when I posted. Best regards, Ostyposty

It does look like an exhaust manifold / water injection point. It looks to be in reasonable nick to me but, as TCT says, a bit of judicious scraping would prove conclusive.

Hi Richard, thanks for your response. I have done a bit and seems quite solid. Prob leave it be!
