MD2020 Volvo Pre filter Position?

Hi,

I have a Volvo 2020 with a prefilter on the fuel line (glass bowl type)
Should this be positioned below the level of the tank, as I have been told this is “gravity fed”?

Nope! The lift pump on ya 2020 is more than sufficient to 'pull' through the fuel.

Although typically fitting instructions for these CAV type pre filters will say something along the lines of.

‘…should be fitted at a height between the base of the fuel tank and the feed pump, to reduce the resistance in the fuel suction pipe…’

On my 2020 it is fitted at level of the tank. I have a racor twist-on filter and water separator with a built in pump to bleed off the air.
